Before I start, I don’t want to make clear that there is no right or wrong answer to this question.
Like with most things I think that there are good reasons to put your prices on your website, and reasons why not. Let’s have a look:
Benefits to showing prices
One of the main reasons to have your prices on your website is to provide clarity for potential clients and to deter clients that want something cheaper.
There are also some people out there who are just looking for the cheapest coach they can find. You don’t want to bother emailing or doing a call with these people.
We are more and more used to having any information we want online, and that includes pricing. There are plenty of people out there who won’t even consider doing a free call without having an idea of your pricing (I’m one of those!)
I also think that potential clients who already know your pricing before they speak to you are going to be more committed than those who don’t.
Benefits of not showing prices
By not showing your prices then you don’t have to tie yourself down to a fixed type of package.
This can allow you to really personalize your offer to each client you speak to. Whether this means recommending more or less sessions, upping or lowering your prices depending on the person and their circumstances (or even how much you do or don’t want to work with them).
By not showing your prices you are also avoid scaring some clients off. What might seem expensive before a call, might seem a great investment after they’ve had the chance to speak to you.
Why don’t I show prices on my website?
So right now I don’t have prices on my website, but I actually believe that I SHOULD (for the same reasons I wrote above).
I am currently developing “packages” so that I offer two distinct products:
- I will continue to offer 100% personalized, fully branded, converting websites for coaches.
- I am in the process of coming up with a package for new coaches that will help them get online quickly (and cheaply).
Once I’ve worked out these packages I will have prices on my website!
